Reykjadalur, meaning “Steam Valley,” is one of Iceland’s most popular geothermal hiking destinations. Located near Hveragerði, this trail combines scenic landscapes with a relaxing soak in a natural hot river.

The hike is about 6 km round trip and follows a well-maintained trail through the Hengill geothermal area. The path includes a steady uphill climb at the beginning.

The trail features gravel paths, steaming vents, bubbling mud pools, and colorful mineral deposits. A highlight along the way is Djúpagilsfoss waterfall.
