Lawyer Charged with Violent Crimes in Falu District Court
A lawyer in his 50s from Västerås is facing serious charges in the Falu district court, stemming from a series of alleged violent acts committed between March 25, 2024, and August 22, 2025.
The indictment paints a troubling picture of repeated domestic violence, detailing instances where the accused reportedly kicked and struck a woman both in his home and in various hotels, including locations abroad. In one harrowing incident this past January, he allegedly kicked her in the face, causing her to collapse. He is further accused of following up with more brutal kicks aimed at her upper body.
Children Witnessing the Violence
Heartbreakingly, the indictment specifies that during some of these assaults, children were present, raising concerns not only about the physical but also the emotional toll of the abuse. The woman reportedly sustained numerous injuries, along with pain and bloody wounds, directly attributed to the lawyer’s actions. In addition to the physical abuse, the accused allegedly threatened her life on two separate occasions.
The charges extend beyond physical violence, as the lawyer is also accused of violating child protection laws, given that some of the assaults occurred in the presence of a child.
The man’s arrest took place on August 23, shortly after an alleged incident at a hotel in Borlänge, where he purportedly forced the woman against a door, resulting in an eyebrow injury, visible bruising, and marks around her eye.
In a statement following his arrest, the lawyer has denied all allegations against him.
