The city of Reykjavík has called a support meeting today for parents of preschool children at Múlaborg, ahead of tonight’s Kveiksfáður episode, which is expected to make for difficult viewing.
According to sources from mbl.is, the episode will focus on serious allegations against a kindergarten employee who has been charged with rape and other sexual offenses involving a child at the school.
City officials have drawn criticism for how they have handled — or failed to handle — the case.
A Recurrent Concern
The suspect had previously been linked to offenses against ten children, though the district prosecutor has since closed those cases and decided not to take further action.
This is not the first time a support meeting has been arranged for parents over the Múlaborg situation. Just last week, after media reports flagged the man’s impending charges, a similar gathering was held to give parents a space to raise concerns and work through their anxiety.
