Paris Jackson Celebrates Six Years of Sobriety Amid Recovery Reflections
Paris Jackson, the daughter of pop icon Michael Jackson, has recently marked a notable milestone: nearly six years of living drug-free. In a candid social media video, the 27-year-old revealed the long-lasting consequences of her past struggles with addiction.
Jackson spoke openly about her health, displaying a perforated septum—a physical reminder of her past choices. Utilizing her phone’s flashlight, she demonstrated the condition, which produces a whistling sound with each breath. “It’s from what you think it’s from. Don’t do drugs, kids,” she cautioned, driving home a crucial message for her followers.
Reflecting on her journey, Jackson shared that she has dealt with her septum condition since she was 20, a challenge that has sometimes hindered her music production. Despite her health issues, she has opted against surgery, expressing reluctance to undergo the necessary medication involved in the procedure. With a mix of seriousness and light-heartedness, she quipped about her situation, saying, “Dope ruined my life,” yet joked that she could “pull a spaghetti through the hole.”
Last month, during an award ceremony where she received the Shining Star Award, Jackson expressed gratitude for her sobriety journey. “I am truly grateful to be part of a movement that is so in line with my higher purpose,” she said, adding, “I pray that I can continue to help others.”
As Michael Jackson’s only daughter, Paris shares her life with two brothers: Prince Michael, aged 28, and Bigi, aged 23. In her ongoing journey towards healing and advocacy, Jackson stands as a testament to resilience, a beacon of hope for those navigating similar challenges.
