Capital Area Police Report: A Night of Unusual Incidents
Last night, officers in the capital area came across a naked man wandering through Hlíðun. He was taken to a local hospital to be looked after.
That was one of 43 incidents recorded in the police log covering the period between 5 PM yesterday and 5 AM this morning. One person is currently being held in detention.
In a separate case, a driver was stopped in district 101. Officers found he was driving without a valid licence and was carrying illegal substances. He was taken to a detention centre. Out in Kópavogur, another driver was pulled over on suspicion of impaired driving. He gave a blood sample and was then released.
In district 108, two drivers were fined for using their mobile phones at the wheel without hands-free devices.
It was, by any measure, a busy night on the roads.
