Justin Bieber Heads to North Iceland for New Album Recording
In the spring of 2025, Justin Bieber travelled to North Iceland to record his latest album. He based himself at Deplar Farm in Fljótin — a remote luxury retreat tucked between snow-covered mountains and a sweeping coastline.
Deplar Farm is managed by Eleven Experiences and does more than offer high-end accommodation. On site is Flóki Studio, a fully equipped recording facility that has been carefully renovated over the years. It sits deep in the local community’s history while giving artists something rare: serious studio gear with uninterrupted views of mountains and sea.
Iceland’s landscape didn’t just set the scene — it ended up in the music video for Bieber’s new single, “FIRST PLACE.” Released on August 13, the video pulled in close to 2 million views within 24 hours. It follows Bieber across North Iceland: heli-skiing, biking, soaking in geothermally heated waters. The place does most of the talking.
The trip seems to have been as much about stepping away and reconnecting as it was about making a record. Whether that comes through in the music is for listeners to decide.
